Class Expectations, Rules, and Discipline Procedures

We will use the 8 Expectations in or classroom:

  1. We will value one another as unique and special individuals.

  2. We will not laugh at or make fun of a person’s mistakes nor use sarcasm or putdowns.

  3. We will use good manners, saying, “please”, “thank you”, “excuse me”, and allowing others to go first.

  4. We will cheer each other to success.

  5. We will help one another whenever possible.

  6. We will recognize every effort and applaud it.

  7. We will encourage each other to do our best.

  8. We will practice virtuous living, using the Life Principles.

We have 5 rules: 1: Follow directions quickly, 2: Raise your hand for permission to speak, 3:  Raise your hand for permission to leave your seat, 4: Make smart choices, 5: Keep your dear teacher happy.  We will also use Class Dojo as a behavior management tool and point system.

Points are as followed: 0-2 Green = Ready to Learn, 3-4 Blue = Good Day, 5-6 Purple = Great Day, 7-9 Pink = Outstanding, -1,-2 = Yellow = Think about it, -3,-4,-5 Orange = Teacher’s Choice, -6 Red = Student being sent to Mr.  Huckaby at that point parents will be contacted.

We will have 3 prize buckets for blue, purple, and pink.  At the end of each day students who have reached between 3-9 points will earn a prize.

*In Severe Cases, such as harming another person,  destruction of property, willful defiance, ect.. child will be sent straight to Principal.
