Notice to students and parents (11/29/20)

In-person school resumes tomorrow, Monday, at the regular start time!  Going forward, our goal is to remain in school by avoiding an outbreak that could require us to return to distance learning.

While we appear to be in good shape for our return this week, we know that our area is experiencing a significant uptick in cases. There are two circumstances that could cause us to consider a return to distance learning in the coming weeks:

  1. If we do not have enough school personnel and substitutes available to safely conduct in-person learning.

  2. If we experience a significant surge of positive cases among students.

Please review the following as we resume in person learning:

  • Wearing a mask is strongly encouraged for students and staff as we return to in-person learning.  *Health Department officials have indicated that students and staff members wearing masks may avoid quarantine following a contact tracing investigation. Whether or not a person is wearing a mask is taken into consideration in these investigations.

  • Make distancing a priority. If you are with others, remain 6 feet apart as much as possible.

  • Wash hands and use hand sanitizer frequently throughout the day.

  • Students and personnel must not attend school if they have any symptoms, including loss of taste, lost sense of smell, fever, cough, or other cold-like symptoms.

  • Testing is recommended and available for anyone experiencing symptoms or if concerned about possible exposure. The County Health Department is conducting free COVID-19 testing (Call 580-928-5551 for more information).

  • Please notify school administrators upon learning of a positive test result. Prompt notification is crucial to containing the spread of the virus.
