Sayre Eagles are “UNSTOPPABLE!”

Sayre Public Schools kicked the 2016-2017 school year off with a bit of inspiration! Replacing the usual “first day” routine was a presentation from Mr. Craig Conrad and his program “THE UNSTOPPABLE YOU.”

Mr. Conrad is a nationally known T.V. host, author, and former teacher of 26 years! His innovative and energetic teaching career has earned him six nominations for Who’s Who Best Teachers in America, the recipient of the Governor’s Award for Excellence in Education from Colorado Governor, Roy Romer, and awarded the first ever national Tradition of Excellence Award.  Craig has also been featured on ABC World News and NBC Nightly News programs, CBS The Early Show, and was selected to carry the 2002 Winter Olympic Torch.

Providing motivation to students, schools, and communities for decades, Craig feels that his greatest achievement are those students that he inspired, who went from listening to his famous “Friday Stories,” to living them.

This is an exciting time for Sayre Schools, and we wanted our first day back to measure up to the expectations we have for this school year.  Craig is actually presenting four different programs in a three day time span.  He spoke to the faculty on Wednesday, August 10th about the importance of building positive relationships with students, mutual respect, and the value of teachers and coaches in students’ lives.  He presented to our middle school and high school students on the first day of school, Thursday, August 11th.  His message consisted of stories and examples that build self-esteem, discuss the power of making choices, and rising to your full potential.

This opportunity is provided by the generosity of the Oklahoma City Indian Clinic.  We are beyond grateful for their collaboration with Craig Conrad—so that schools like ours may have this experience with no cost to the district.

Craig will present to our elementary students on Friday, August 12th at 1:00 p.m. and then offer yet another message to the community that same evening at 6:00 p.m. at the Sayre Schools’ auditorium.  We are inviting everyone in Sayre along with all surrounding communities to join us for this event.  The admission is free, but the message is priceless!
